Goodbye Term One

Its almost Christmas so expect a few cheesy Christmas songs appearing, but also some band music from The Courtneers and Artic Monkeys along with a few old classics. I will be talking about the good and bad things which have occured throughout term one (mainly good!), the highlights and lowlights, and also what people are looking forward to next term! (More nights out, drinking and hopefully some sun shine towards the end). Possible interview from two friends hearing their favourite parts of term one and hearing about if they have learnt anything this term which they will not be doing next term.. spending all your loan in the first few weeks for instance.

Not Quite The Midnight Music Hour

Variety music and request show. Send in a music request before the show and get a shout out!

Occasional terrible karaoke too.

URY:PM - Roku Radio
Tune in to Roku Radio, the home of bad links, dubious song choices and an award winning jingle! (Not that we're milking that) Self proclaimed as "perfectly adequate" and "definitely not the worst radio in existence" strap yourself in for two hours of mixed genre music, interesting guests, fun features and a lot of laughs. Join Naomi, Kat and Will Batch for another season filled with all the usual madness, and hopefully fewer radio disasters.

The Saturday Night Slowdown

Tired of big nights out and loud, irritating music? Wish that you could just spend Saturday evening relaxing in bed or playing video games? Well, here's the perfect excuse! Tune in and space out to the sounds of the newest, most chill electronic music with Will "voice like liquid gold" Oldfield. So, spend your saturday evening in style - sit back, unwind and enjoy!

Welcome to our House

A relaxed show ideal for a chilled out pre's, mainly about the music with a tendency to play house music. Tune in give a request and enjoy.

Soccer FM

Football-based talk show. Three Langwith legends reflect on all things Premier League, mixed in with some of your favourite throwbacks and chart bangers.

The Farce Show

Claire and Alice endeavour to make it through an hour of music and questionable conversation without breaking the studio or each other.

Naomi's Birthday Bonanza!

A one time special of live music, features and radio madness to celebrate Naomi Gildert's 21st Birthday! Live from campus it promises to be a magical evening of frivolity and joy. With Jack McNeill as a confirmed artist and more to be announced, whether you're a friend or stranger this isn't a night to be missed.

Tweedle Dum, De and Me

Show comprising 3 final year undergraduates taking a look at that inevitable question of 'what next?'... through the medium of entertainment. Alongside a special guest each week (we'll sort these- people with varying weird and wonderful things lined up for them after uni), we'll look to sift through one more potential life choice every week as we count down towards the end of university. The planned format of the show will look to include an interview with our special guest as they join us for a whole host of potential silly features including:

- Helen and Judy's travelling tips. Being seasoned travellers of Asia, the pair will reveal another wacky story from their travelling experiences each week.
- 'Fit it in my Fro' - special guest will look to fit a different object each week into Joe's afro. Feature will also include leaderboard based on nature of object chosen and how many they managed to fit in his hair.
- 'Joe's chimes' or a title to that effect. Comic song, recorded specially for the show every week, written by Joe on a subject messaged in to the show/something to do with the idea of 'what's next?'
- Interview with our special guest on what his/her plan is for next year and/or what they are currently doing having now graduated. Many exciting people lined up!
- 'Decipher Judy/Helen' or title to that effect- feature involving Joe/listeners attempting to guess certain scottish accented words in English or Gaelic.

Show's music will probably be around 6 songs and will be a competition between Joe, Helen and Judy (2 songs each) on who has picked the best music for that day. Potentially based around the 'what next' theme for that show!

In a nutshell, light-hearted entertainment show looking at the serious question of 'what's next?'. Aimed then at current final years but also applicable for all years. Will also look to have jingle for the show- playing on idea of 'tweedle Dum' (Helen/Judy), tweedle De (Helen/Judy) and Me (Joe).

URY Presents: YUSU Elections Debate

Listen, as the YUSU Candidates get another chance to convince students of York to vote for them with this debate broadcast live from Hendrix Hall!

Depending on what mood I am in I may even throw in some Disco.

For a very special one-off show, two so-called 'legends' of URY return.

They entertained listeners for literally minutes while on air together during the heady days of 2016/17, so expect plenty of nostalgia and in-jokes that you definitely won't understand.

Nevertheless, it'll be worth a listen, just for an example of how not to move on from university.

They'll bring you some stonking tunes, funny features, and magical memories that will wind the clock back to when URY was just a pre-pubescant 48-year-old.

In order too justify the vast expense of time, effort, and finances I have invested on my long range wifi antenna. Days of the Week

This show is all about looking ahead to the next week of arguably unnecessary 'Days' of celebration that cloud internet calendars and Buzzfeed articles alike. Bathtub Day bangers anyone?

Matt Windsor's Almost Definitely Last Ever Show, Probably

Exactly what it says on the tin.

Not that radio shows come in tins.

But this one does, and it's a three decade old salted pork tin full of what will probably be recent London migrant and soon-to-be-former PhD student Matt Windsor's last ever show on URY before he finally stops being a student.  Expect pretty much everything that can be expected from a washed up student radio DJ that was once referred to as URY's answer to Alan Partridge: an hour of awkward gaps between songs, awkward songs between gaps, and attempts to draw a close on 8ish years of somehow repeatedly being scheduled for shows despite having the radio nous of a loofah.  Does anyone still use loofahs?
