A New Low
Think of a radio show as being like a car. Here at A New Low we disable the airbags and ram that car repeatedly into a tree.
Audio Attack!
Lots of different genres of music will be played including 'metal' and 'nice stuff' (that's a genre now I think). Chatting too. Fun, yeah? Yeah.
Backslash
Music, cookies, dishwasher, Ireland and other random words hopefully stringing together to make a sentence. Maybe it's a spin-off from the DAndy Lie-in because Andrew never let me press any buttons... who knows? Eventually I'll find out but hoping to have lots of guests on some you'll know and some you wont. At times I think I mightn't know either but hopefully it'll be humorous enough to merit a show.
Closing the Gap
An hour of whatever I can think of!.
Ear Candy
Songs to listen to and love. The musical offerings we think you really really need to hear- new things, old things but ALWAYS good things.
Flogging a Dead Horse with Joseph Hook
I'm back! With the best selection of music on radio today - including gems that you had forgotten about, some that you never knew, and as many of your requests as I can fit in. Including an extraordinary line-up of exciting guests, and a plethora of enthralling features. It's going to be even better than Hooky's Whole Hour was last term! I know, I didn't think it was possible either.
G.I. J.O.E.
Got Issues? - János, Ollie and Eddie all do. János has got his Mum, sorry, “Mom” round, Ollie's got his head in the past and Eddie's playing fisticuffs with beverage machines. Are they legally allowed on the radio. Well, Scott Bryan thinks so. Join us for a beautifully irreverent piece of radio. You won't be disappointed (too much...).
Gone in 60 Minutes
A one shot lunch special of your favourite dance and R'n'B with a sprinkling of rock too. Could you think of a better revision aid?.
Mengoni and Reynolds Present...
Emo cheese made from emo cows... think cheddar and grunge in one lovely vacuum package. An amazing show in which we discuss the hot topics and laugh at them as well as playing cheese and emo music.
Super Radio 64
Your first stop for computer game music from some of the best games that I can think of, ranging from retro to current generation.
The DAndy Lie-In
Utterly unecessary yet brilliantly bizarre - the 'Late Breakfast' returns. We've accepted that we're never going to make prime time, but we'll be damned if it'll bring us down! The Late Breakfast is a mixture of killer tunes (when we figure out how to play them) with cutting-edge dialogue to match. We like to think we're funny, but we're fully prepared to accept we're not. Packed full of wacky guests and pointless featurettes, there is no stone we leave unturned, no bird un...stoned and, well you get the idea. Bottom line - we're fun, eclectic with a serious love of all kinds of music thrown in! If that isn't enough, we have our very own Leprechaun - beat that.
The Edd Robinson Show
Eight societies, one game show, one winner! Mix elements of all of your favourite quiz shows and game shows together. Throw in some random chat, in-depth information about what societies are doing, music, and YUSU societies. Then think of it as a radio show.
The Gothic Gateway
Covering all aspects of the darker side of music. From symphonic goth through to headbanging power metal, from German industrial to Finnish Folk, allow me to introduce you to the bands that will change the way you think about music. Take a trip through The Gothic Gateway.
The Jason Rose Show
As well as all requests, whatever I fancy whether really bad or incredibly awesome. Also the most pointless and ridiculous features I can think of... and hopefully some guests!.
Too Tired To Think
Too much like hard work. Lethargic banter and a mis-mash of music to give you the Friday feeling.

URY FRIDAY: Too Tired To Think
Too much like hard work. Lethargic banter and a mis-mash of music to help you get you through the Friday afternoon slump.
'The New World Order' by Ben Jeapes. Part 1: 1645
URY's national award winning team presents our most ambitious drama to date, available to hear worldwide at www.ury.org.uk, with two feature length Episodes over two consecutive weeks! ‘England, May 1645: The civil war that has torn England apart between King Charles I and Parliament is nearing its bloody conclusion — and in the English countryside, a stranger seeks his old love and finds there is a son whom he has never seen...’ You would be excused, perhaps, for thinking that this is the introduction to a thrilling historical drama. And you'd be dead right. Yet this is not the history you know, for the world has turned on to a new and deadly path. With breath-taking imagination, Ben Jeapes has wrenched the familiar flow of English history out of its course and made it into something else, something entirely other. There is a third force, an entirely alien force — the Holekhor — who have martial powers of their own, their own religious leaders who command mysterious and strange forces, and who bring with them technology that should not have been seen in England for another three hundred years... Prepare to be astounded. History will never be the same again.’ Described by the Sunday Times in 2004 as "Without doubt the best science fiction book of the year”, the national award winning drama team at University Radio York has the privilege of the first ever dramatization of this incredible novel. With an incredible cast of around 30 talented student actors and a specially composed score recorded by an ensemble fine student musicians this two part feature length drama brings you, through the power of radio, scenes to rival Hollywood epics as well as an intimate portrait of historical figures and beautifully crafted characters in a world turned on its head. NOTE: This production is only going to be broadcast once and will not be available on our on demand service.
Big Cheese on Campus

The music equivalent of a shot at Willow, this show revels in the music which is so bad that it's kind of good. Rather than gently getting you through Monday, I instead will attempt to get you singing along to songs you hoped you'd forgotten the words to. Perfect for not doing work to, Monday evenings will never be the same again. DISCLAIMER: Monday nights will probably be the same as every other Monday as the presenter has no control over the days or weather or any cool powers like that (even though he thinks he does). The Presenter takes no liability for any injuries caused by people suddenly dancing to any of the tunes played or the insult that this show is to good music. Terms, conditions and yolo applies.

The Annexe Radio Show

We will be playing songs from absolutely anywhere, as long as we think they're good! Forget world music, think indie, 60s, folk, new wave and much more from all around the world!

Williams and Wong Show

A topical comic talkshow in which we discuss our campus encounters and other funny stories interspersed with the occasional song of our choice relevant to that which we discuss. Similar to the Ricky Gervais show and Richard Herring's 'As It Occurs to Me'. Genre: we're still trying to figure it out, although we think it's on for a winner.

ARE YOU BRAVE ENOUGH?

URY and Litsoc present a frightening live horror event happening right here on York Uni campus this Halloween.

Taking place in complete darkness in the very creepy location of Heslington Hall, we dare you to listen to 3 originally written and produced horror stories.

It is a FREE event, no tickets needed, just a lot of nerve. All the scares and screams will be broadcast LIVE on URY as well at 6-7pm this Halloween.

So if you think you can last the hour in pitch black darkness we challenge you to come and be part of a special one-off URY event.

Good luck, we'll be waiting...

Breakz

We are York Uni's only electronic music and DJ society, and will be providing a variety of underground genres running from Jazz and Afrobeat to UK Garage and Techno. We're aiming to educate our listeners in the most obscure and forward thinking music we could get our hands on, which means we will be getting some of our favourite selectors from York and nearby cities to provide guest mixes, as we plough through the hundreds of new releases that come out weekly.
