URY Gender Documentary

The URY Speech team invetsigates the role of gender identity in our society.  Our aim is to raise awareness of the different types of identity, and to address related topics such as the representation of gender in the media, politics, and law, as well as looking at the history of gender and personal perspectives from students.  Georgie Norgate interviews a variety of people to learn about their personal experience with gender and some issues they have come across as a result of their gender identity.


Society Speed Dating

Beth and Chess get up close and personal with different socities on campus! Every week, we will be chatting a different society, finding out what they are about, what makes them tick, and why people should join them. Six Degrees of....
This show works off the idea that "every person in the world is within sex degrees of separation from any other person" but applies it to music. The aim of the show is to provide a variation of different music spanning different genres but still finding a link from one song to the next i.e. this band toured with, has a member who featured in one of the songs of, has the same record label as, appeared in the same soundtrack for a film as, has a member who is married to a member of....etc.
Alphabet Mashup

a funky mix of songs and chat focusing on a different letter of the alphabet each week... be prepared for top tunes and brilliant bants with your favourite radio duo!

Going Underground!

Are you ready to go …. Underground? No, this is not a ‘The Jam’ fan show - we’re archaeology students (Indiana Jones style), combining joint passions for music and archaeology via radio! We will be discussing and discovering artifacts, excavations, and archaeologists in the past and present, to share the joys of finding out what's going on underground. This is a mixed music and talking show … because archaeology rocks (but differently to paleontologists)! We are fans of old soul rock and indie music so prepare for a good time, whether you are an archaeology enthusiast or just had to google what it means.

Join URY for a weekend of live music straight from Jukebox festival in the Roger Kirk Centre on campus west, with 25 different acts from a wide range of genres there is sure to be something for everyone! But don't worry there's more; URY's very own Vinyl Revival (Harvey + Tolan) are around to keep you company all weekend too.


Peck's Picks

An exploration of all types of music, Peck's Picks discusses the 5 top tracks of a different guest each week as well as some favourite tunes of presenter, Hattie. Covering everything from Mozart to Miley Cyrus, we showcase the variety of people's taste in music.


Love Factually

All about love!! A range of wonderful pannelists each week and fabulous love songs. We discuss the link between love and different subjects. A feel good show with lots of laughs.

Each week we will be discussing a different episode of The West Wing, pulling it apart and talking about our favourite scenes and how much we wish Jed Bartlet was real.
