Listen in for relaxing rhythms and equistely crafted songs like you've never heard.
At the start of each show, my hastily-written computer code picks a random date from the 60s, 70s or 80, and I have to fill 58 minutes with music and news from that date. The URY record library gets a bit patchy if we go back to the 60s, so wish me luck!
URY once again cover Yorkshire's Plusnet Marathon. Listen in for celebrities, and a lot of breathy voices.
Anything you can jump to, from rock to dubstep, all is welcome! Loud & Loaded has the biggest and best tunes to fill a room with energy, if it's got a good beat, it shall be played! A late night show to get York pumped for nights out (or a no holds barred night of intense studying).
The triumphant return of the critically acclaimed* The Ben and Jasper Show, join our presenters for another season of arguing about the order of our names and riding the very thin line between OFCOM regulated and illegal broadcasting.
Tune in to our show all about culture in York and Yorkshire! If you're stuck for things to do in York or a newbie to the area, then this is the place for you.
Whether you're interested in food, drink, art, museums etc. give the show a cheeky listen.
A carefully curated selection of broadly "alternative" (whatever that means) tunes from the classic to the eclectic, with a special nod of fondness to the arty and pretentious. Yes, "classic alternative" is kind of a contradiction in terms, but here at Speed of Life, we embrace paradox to the point of meaninglessness. Occasional themed weeks provide welcome respite from the usual swirl of chaos.
Bringing you lots of excting stuff to brighten up your afternoon.

Two feel-good hours of Josh playing some fantastic music as well him going off on stories about his various encounters with York's territorial wildlife, pathetically terrifying experiences on his bike and arguably informative features, how could you not listen?
A show based around your requests, "All Things Go" - If appropriate of course. The show will vary from all sorts of genres and we will play as many of your requests. We will also fit in a few of our own requests too, but make sure you listen in as you can take control this hour.
Unlike Beyoncé, we make our own content. Join us as we exercise our contractual right to a maximum of 2 Beyoncé songs in an hour, plus as may features as we can find.

A series of four specials exploring the relationship between sounds and words and other forms of art. Each week, we will be discussing the connections between different pieces of work with a series of special guests. We'll be featuring great and innovative music, writing and art written by our favourite established artists and york students.
The idea of fishtail comes from Ouroboros, which is the image of a fish or reptile biting its own tail. It signifies something that is constantly recreating itself, something that pre-existed and is so powerful that it must continue. Of course, it also comes from the notion of a fisherman's tale. In our programme, we're going to be 'biting our tales' and circulating from one art form to the next.
It's that time of the year again - there'll be one stall giving out bags for some reason, so make sure you grab the bag for all the other random freebies you get from stalls you pretend to be interested in just to get the pens.
Freshers' Fair 2021 is nearly upon us - join me as we build up to it with some great music and chat!
The title says it all! Fellow ASMR fan, Carrie Morrison, attempts an hour special of trying various ASMR techniques to relax the fellow listeners!
A show to turn even the lamest of squares into far-out foot tappers.
Over the course of the show, extreme levels of rockabilly will be pumped through the airwaves of URY, from Elvis Presley to The Big Bopper, all with the intention of providing maximum satisfaction.
The show will consist of anecdotes relating to the music in question, explorations into the popular themes and concepts of rockabilly/rock 'n' roll (such as a show dedicated to 'Death Discs'), as well as interviews with individuals who remember watching the rock 'n' roll stars of the 1950s in their heyday. Playing the big hits of the 1950s, as well as with the secret 7" golddust that's been hiding in the attic, this show will provide a roster of early rock 'n' roll and rockabilly that will make you want to turn your fringe into a quiff, your Volkswagen into a Cadillac, and your Carling into a Cherry Coke.
No structure. No consistency. I could sit there for 40 minutes and talk about chainlink - or maybe it's a music show
Claire and Alice endeavour to make it through an hour of music and questionable conversation without breaking the studio or each other.
Beth and Chess get up close and personal with different socities on campus! Every week, we will be chatting a different society, finding out what they are about, what makes them tick, and why people should join them. There is something new in every episode, so make sure to listen on catch up if you miss one!
Two of York’s freshers hit the airwaves for the first time to share with you their experiences and tales of life in the small apple. Shows will often be a cocktail of light hearted humour and bad music choices.
