The music equivalent of a shot at Willow, this show revels in the music which is so bad that it's kind of good. Rather than gently getting you through Monday, I instead will attempt to get you singing along to songs you hoped you'd forgotten the words to. Perfect for not doing work to, Monday evenings will never be the same again. DISCLAIMER: Monday nights will probably be the same as every other Monday as the presenter has no control over the days or weather or any cool powers like that (even though he thinks he does). The Presenter takes no liability for any injuries caused by people suddenly dancing to any of the tunes played or the insult that this show is to good music. Terms, conditions and yolo applies.
Matt from Retrospectre! does an hour of music released this year, for a challenge.
'Page one (we don't explain names)' is an easy-going and fresh take on radio, featuring the brave Matt and handsome Will in talks about our lives and life in general. If you've ever wondered what radio sounds like, now's your chance. Do as everyone else will be doing: tune in and die!
Music will be peachy and brilliant.
Its almost Christmas so expect a few cheesy Christmas songs appearing, but also some band music from The Courtneers and Artic Monkeys along with a few old classics. I will be talking about the good and bad things which have occured throughout term one (mainly good!), the highlights and lowlights, and also what people are looking forward to next term! (More nights out, drinking and hopefully some sun shine towards the end). Possible interview from two friends hearing their favourite parts of term one and hearing about if they have learnt anything this term which they will not be doing next term.. spending all your loan in the first few weeks for instance.
Show comprising 3 final year undergraduates taking a look at that inevitable question of 'what next?'... through the medium of entertainment. Alongside a special guest each week (we'll sort these- people with varying weird and wonderful things lined up for them after uni), we'll look to sift through one more potential life choice every week as we count down towards the end of university. The planned format of the show will look to include an interview with our special guest as they join us for a whole host of potential silly features including:
- Helen and Judy's travelling tips. Being seasoned travellers of Asia, the pair will reveal another wacky story from their travelling experiences each week.
- 'Fit it in my Fro' - special guest will look to fit a different object each week into Joe's afro. Feature will also include leaderboard based on nature of object chosen and how many they managed to fit in his hair.
- 'Joe's chimes' or a title to that effect. Comic song, recorded specially for the show every week, written by Joe on a subject messaged in to the show/something to do with the idea of 'what's next?'
- Interview with our special guest on what his/her plan is for next year and/or what they are currently doing having now graduated. Many exciting people lined up!
- 'Decipher Judy/Helen' or title to that effect- feature involving Joe/listeners attempting to guess certain scottish accented words in English or Gaelic.
Show's music will probably be around 6 songs and will be a competition between Joe, Helen and Judy (2 songs each) on who has picked the best music for that day. Potentially based around the 'what next' theme for that show!
In a nutshell, light-hearted entertainment show looking at the serious question of 'what's next?'. Aimed then at current final years but also applicable for all years. Will also look to have jingle for the show- playing on idea of 'tweedle Dum' (Helen/Judy), tweedle De (Helen/Judy) and Me (Joe).
A music show of everything underground. Like the show Gully Riddems, but with better tunes and djs who actually know what they're doing.

On air, On demand, In your ear. Four guys whispering late at night and maybe doing some stuff.
Neave and Will, collegues in Film and Television try to spend the hour talking about anything but the course that they are doing. Tune in for a variety of music and ever-changing topics as they try to be as un-continuituos as humanly possible.
As the saying goes, everyone gets theirs. University bigwigs, students, and campus in general have finally had enough of Jonny Long and Callum McCulloch.
In the ultimate act of media censorship, the powers that be have created an artificial island in the lake by central hall, and have duly marrooned our two entrepid protagonists upon it.
However, in an age of plummetting league table places, a disaffected student body, and general lack of extraordinarily funny people, the boys have been given a radio show to pass their time in exile, and also the option of recruiting one more person for their wiley band of vagabonds.
Therefore, they will be holding tryouts, live on air. There will be challenges, we will critique the songs you wish to bring with you, your luxury item better be on our list of things we need.
It's going to be sort of like The Apprentice, Only Connect, The X Factor, Raven, and a certain BBC Radio 4 radio show (that we can't remember the name of) all rolled into one.
The critics have called it a gamechanger, our mother's have called it a 2:2 waiting to happen.
All we know is that it's going to pop off in a big way.
It's dogs doing a student radio show.
Chef Will's parents are visiting and they want to be famous and go on the radio, so they are here doing a desert island disks kind of thing whilst Will trys not to be embarrassed.
Neave and Will (and Sam(and maybe Steve)) , collegues in Film and Television(or radio) try to spend the hours talking about anything but the course that they are doing and failing miserably. Tune in for a variety of music and ever-changing topics as they try to be as un-continuituos as humanly possible.
Joshua Kerr's final show on University Radio York. It's been exactly 999 days since Joshua started university and having first hit the airwaves just 10 days after beggining at York, he's ending his time doing exactly what he came to university to do.
Tom Arnold does doing radioness
Join us every Friday at 2pm for our 6th Season of Fake News - a topical commentary on politics and current affairs. We'll play a mixture of relevant songs and music we've been listening to, whilst doing our best to remain within neutrality guidelines.
From 2007-2010, The Scott Bryan Show was broadcast on University Radio York. It was a show that I reckon I will remember for the rest of my damn life.
For one afternoon, it's back. Featuring Predic-A-Manger, The York Pork Fork Talk Walk Spork Game and a lot of music that nobody has played on the station for about five years, Dave Tracz will be doing the news. I'll get a text from my mother telling me to slow down, it'll be fine whatever I am saying.
Please listen. It'll be fine.
In order too justify the vast expense of time, effort, and finances I have invested on my long range wifi antenna. I'm going to be doing a series of random outside broadcasts from locations in the middle of nowhere. Depending on how well I set up my kit, there may even be music and live interviews over skype/my mobile. Feel free too enable my eccentricities by listening.
Matt Windsor should really be writing up his thesis. Instead, he's doing yet another URY radio show, focusing on music older than him sandwiched between awkward observations about life as a washed-up postgraduate. Oh dear.
It's starting to dawn on me... what a terrible idea doing a bumper 2 hour breakfast show is. If you do happen to be awake, you probably have something better to be doing anyway, but on the off chance you don't, why not listen to this?
Join me in the race to the 4PM Dissertation Deadline, I'll be handing in my diseratation live on air, as well as talking to others doing the same! Tune it for all the drama disseration day!
