Description

The rivalry between York and Lancaster has a long history, full of conflict. Stemming from the War of the Roses that caused decades of civil war in the fifteenth century, this fierce rivalry lives on in the form of the largest inter-university sports tournament in Europe.

On the weekend of April the 29th, these two universities will clash for the 52ndt time in a three day sporting spectacle of the utmost magnitude.

50 sports. 133 fixtures. Hundreds of competitors. Thousands of spectators. One trophy.

The history books record a narrow lead to York, possessing 26 overall Roses victories to Lancaster's 24.

The Carter James trophy currently sits proudly in York. The time now approaches where we will do everything in our grasp to make sure it stays where it truly belongs, YORK!

This year let's march to Lancaster and make sure that #RosesAreWhite once more
