A diverse, bizarre tribute to ecleticism with words, guests and banter. Every week me and a guest will be honing in on certain music genres and movements, with focuses upon labels, aesthetics, cultures and so on. Then we'll spring you a few surprises. Maybe.
Mutiny!
A power-hour of the finest and most diverse alternative rock the current scene has to offer. We as broadcasters are passionate about a genre we believe to be under-represented in York, and our reaction to this is an hour of the relevant tracks from genres ranging from pop-punk, emo, hardcore and progressive.
The Passion
Everyone has something that they're passionate about, what's your guilty pleasure? It's not necessarily alternative music, it just probably wasn't on Radio 1's top ten last week. Be it Goth, heavy metal, ska, punk, movie soundtracks, something classical or perhaps even more diverse, (something really bizarre like… mainstream indie?); I intend to wipe the dust of some real gems that the uninformed may have missed. And remind them of the obvious ones they may have forgotten.

So named because of our wonderful neighbours on campus, we wouldn't want them gone! Just a bit of chatter and whatever music sounds good that week; rock, pop, or anything in between as long as it catches the ear and gets you moving!

The History Programme with Jack Staples-Butler

The History Programme explores a new historical topic each week with insightful analysis by presenter Jack Staples-Butler, a URY News veteran and history enthusiast. Visiting a new place on the timeline of human history every episode, the programme will feature investigation and explanation of diverse epochs, movements and personalities. From the late Roman Republic and the assassination of Julius Caesar, to Henry VIII and the Reformation, to the Second World War and the Swinging Sixties, The History Programme takes listeners to the heart of enthralling and divisive historical arguments and debates with the perspectives of experts and eminent scholars living and dead. History is the constant dialogue of past and present - come and join the discussion.
