Alma, URY's Head of Music, brought Uni BandSoc band Suspicious Liquid into the studio for a chat ahead of a show the band are playing in Leeds. They talked about how they formed, what it felt like winning the BandSoc Battle of the Bands earlier on in the year, and the venues they'd love to play in the future. Be sure to catch them on the 11th of October at the Royal Park Pub and Cellars, to see if they get crowned the official "Sound of Students in the North"!

Ladies, have you ever felt like you can't get a word in when speaking in a group of men? Have you ever felt like you have to put a lot more work in than a man has to be respected? Well we have, so let's talk about it!
On a mournful, drizzly afternoon, Greg James unveiled the late great Longboi statue at the University of York. Immortalised in bronze, the boi will watch over Derwent lake with a cheeky expression and a shining, almost regal aura. In that spirit, URY's Station Manager Joe Brearley sat with Greg and asked him some silly questions. Quack!

Annie Davison, our music team's interview coordinator, recently sat down with Jeffery Lewis, frontman of the anti-folk group "Jeffery Lewis and The Voltage". As someone who thinks of himself as a comic book artist before a musician, they talked about the comparison between making visual art and putting together a song. They also discussed the differences he finds with using Spotify versus Bandcamp, and the unique way him and his band plan tours. Through listening to this interview, you will also get a sneak peek into what it's like being in The Crescent's green room while a soundcheck is going on - mild apologies for that.

They talked about the changes they've experienced within the York live music scene over their time as a band, and how it feels now to be playing shows down in London. (warning: explicit)
