Trasmitter

Not to be confused with the Transmitter.

The Trasmitter is a small object* for which the Technical/Engineering Team leads were principally responsible for maintaining until 2013[1].

  • I can't remember what object. Was it a pen? I think it might have been a pen.

Trasmitter History

It is unclear when the need to maintain the Trasmitter was first added to the constitution, but it was noted during a review in preparation for v2.0 of the constitution. The then Chief Engineer, Tom Haines, was approached by Lloyd Wallis to ask what the Trasmitter is and how it was doing.

Worryingly, the Chief Engineer has never heard of such a device before, so was unable to provide a status report or maintenance history.

Some time later, he triumphantly returned from his quest to find this thing he was supposed to be maintaining. Holding it firmly in his hands, he presented the small object, on which the word "Trasmitter" had been written scruffily and hastily.

Demise of the Trasmitter

It was concluded that the Chief Engineer role is generally held by someone who is more capable at maintaining a "Transmitter" rather than a trasmitter. As a result the Constitutional responsibilities were updated - especially as it was noted that it turned out we hadn't noticed nobody ever looked after the transmitter.

Committee failed to find a replacement role in which to assign trasmitter maintenance; its location is no longer known.
