When Henry Pulling encounters his Aunt Augusta at what he supposesto be his mother's funeral, little does he know what awaits him! Henry, a retired bank manager, is suddenly plunged into a whirlwind of exotic travel and adventure, a far cry from his quiet suburban life tending his dahlias. In the company of the eccentric Aunt Augusta, Henry journeys to Paris, Venice, Istanbul and Paraguay, uncovering his aunt's mysterious past along the way. Joining Aunt Augusta's twilight society of hippies, CIA men and war criminals - Henry smokes pot, breaks currency regulations and, to his surprise, finally comes truly alive for the first time. 5 actors switch identities, nationalities, ages and genders to play 23 parts in Giles Harvergal's lively stage version of Graham Greene's popular novel. This production of 'Travels with My Aunt' is brought to life by premier theatre group, York Settlement Community Players, whose recent productions include Chekhov's 'Three Sisters', Ayckbourn's 'Joking Apart', Lorca's 'The House of Bernada Alba', new musical 'Black Potatoes' and Ibsen's 'Ghosts'.
