Puns aside, this episode is all about John Carpenter's thematic trilogy known as 'The Apocalypse Trilogy'; which consists of The Thing, Prince of Darkness and In The Mouth of Madness. All linked by the narrative idea of the world ending as we know it via some spooky happenings of supernatural of extra terrestrial origins
