Mike Wallbank's Rockabilly Riot!

A show to turn even the lamest of squares into far-out foot tappers.

Over the course of the show, extreme levels of rockabilly will be pumped through the airwaves of URY, from Elvis Presley to The Big Bopper, all with the intention of providing maximum satisfaction.

The show will consist of anecdotes relating to the music in question, explorations into the popular themes and concepts of rockabilly/rock 'n' roll (such as a show dedicated to 'Death Discs'), as well as interviews with individuals who remember watching the rock 'n' roll stars of the 1950s in their heyday. Playing the big hits of the 1950s, as well as with the secret 7" golddust that's been hiding in the attic, this show will provide a roster of early rock 'n' roll and rockabilly that will make you want to turn your fringe into a quiff, your Volkswagen into a Cadillac, and your Carling into a Cherry Coke.

URY:PM - Desert Island Floppy Discs

In the ultimate act of media censorship, the powers that be have created an artificial island in the lake by central hall, and have duly marrooned our two entrepid protagonists upon it.

However, in an age of plummetting league table places, a disaffected student body, and general lack of extraordinarily funny people, the boys have been given a radio show to pass their time in exile, and also the option of recruiting one more person for their wiley band of vagabonds.

After a resoundingly unsuccessful round of interviews last term, the search continues. Expect such radio classics as Stevie Wonder's 5-a-day, Identity Theft, the unforgettable Mum-DMC and plenty more.

And if for some reason you miss the show, you can watch video highlights which will be posted on our Facebook page.

Rumour has it this is the best show URY has ever seen, and we would know, we started those rumours.

Not Another Love Song

Are you tired of every song being about love and loving other people and relationships that involve love and finding true love and love and stuff?

Us too.

We are on mission to find songs that aren't about all that sappy stuff and instead about the finer things in life- like Rasputin and your Mum killing a man, you know how it is.

Join us for some love-free bants, angry discussions about what constitutes a love song from two people who know each other far too well.
