Mr. Fazl Ullah belongs to the Pashtun Community, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Since 2013, he has been a human rights defender, political analyst, and by profession a radio journalist (Producer, ST In charge & Presenter) with over a decade of experience in grassroots activism and Radio media advocacy.
He has led campaigns on women’s rights, minority protection, education, and public health (polio & mental health), using radio as a powerful tool to promote awareness.
Fazl played a vital role in producing and hosting programs on sensitive issues through platforms including Abaseen Radio Network, Khyber FM 91, Radio Pakistan Peshawar, Radio Tehzeeb, Sky FM Balochistan, Radio Besham 88, and others. His broadcasts addressed topics such as the Polio vaccination campaign, mental health, gender equality, awareness against forced marriage and education in remote and underserved communities.
He has led many radio projects of organisations including GIZ, NID, VSO, CRSS, and the Red Cross Khyber. He has contributed to peacebuilding efforts like the “Let’s Play Cricket” campaign in former FATA, and as the president of INU Music Society, he has promoted peace in the region through music events. As a Coordinator In-Charge with the Pak Council of World Religions, he promoted interfaith harmony.
During Exile, Fazl has represented his work internationally at the World Social Forum 2024 (Nepal) and the Asian Regional Consultation for Human Rights Defenders (Bangkok). He is currently participating in Research Projects in the universty of york UK, continuing his advocacy for human rights and equality
