URY News Team

So, who are the URY News team?

Simply put, the News team are responsible for all of the news-related output. Focusing on local and campus news, the News team are your go-to people for reporting on current affairs and happenings around York. News members often venture into and beyond campus, collecting interviews and reporting back on their findings. From marathons to the York Dungeons to Long Boi investigations, the News team is there to investigate and report back.

When are the URY News team active?

The flagship URY Newshour is every Tuesday at 6pm, but preparation and interviewing happens all week and year round! They share this hour with the Sport team, who have a small segment to supplement their own show.

Needless to say, if there is an event, a News member is probably there!

I want to make my own news show with the News team!

Newshour isn't the only show that can be run by the team! If you're looking at this and you have an idea for a news show, let the Head of News or the News Editor know, and they'll work with you to establish it.

News Team 23/24

We have two dedicated individuals that work tirelessly to lead the News team and help guide its output. Contact them on Slack if you'd like to join the team!
