== URY Marketing Team ==
=== What does Marketing do? ===
The marketing team ensures URY is firmly on the map so it is known throughout campus and beyond. We strive to make sure the station’s amazing content gets the amount of reach our great team of presenters and behind the scene magicians deserve! We are the ones responsible for making sure that everyone hears about URY events and are in charge if designing merchandise! So if you’re a creative type who is social media savvy, marketing is the team for you!

==== Merchandise ====
We sell and give away a range of products:
* Traditional custom hoodies
* ‘University Radio York’ sweatshirt in navy
* Pens
* Magnets
* Beer Mats

==== Branding ====
URY’s branding has been maintained by the marketing team as the navy colour for our merchandise. This consistency of colour enables designs of posters and merchandise to be associated across campus to URY. The navy colour of URY will be continuously used to prevent people on campus’ disassociation to URY.

==== Digital Marketing ====
The marketing team's greatest asset is social media. URY uses channels such as Twitter (R.I.P) (which has over 3,000 followers), Facebook (with over 3,500 likes) and a Instagram which has recently become a main social media platform for URY in 2016 (with over 450 followers). Social media is the greatest way to reach students from its easy access, so the marketing team has also branched out and now promotes shows on snapchat, so our listeners can see what our presenters are up to and how they run their show.
==== Competitions====
* Instagram…
** Photo comps
** Tagging URY on holiday

* Facebook and Twitter (X)…
** Question competitions for prizes such as:
*** Freshers tickets
*** Summer Ball tickets
*** Music event tickets
*** Jumpers
*** Merch

=== Promoted Events Beyond URY ===
Alongside our own events, URY has been part of many events on campus such as...

;CIN - Candidate Interview Night
:where the future YUSU presidents are interviewed by URY’s presenters = the marketing team promoted the event through flyers and posts on social media and on the night we tweeted every update and ensured all our social media platforms covered the event.

;YUSU Elections
:URY has worked alongside YUSU to ensure the event was recognised by the public, in addition to this on the night we ran social media in order to keep our listeners updated and to inform them of the running order of the night.

;Roses
: the largest inter-university sports tournament in Europe, URY have had competitions to ensure listeners are involved and the athletes are recognised for their sporting achievements.
